 WHAT
IS THE MOONEY
"TWISTED WING?"
NOTE the downward twist "droop" in the last six feet or so of the 1967 F model wing leading edge.
Note and compare the wingtip shape difference in the "normal" Mooney wing. The TWISTED WING MOONEY exists for only one model and one model year. That is the 1967 M20-F Executive. Mooney was experimenting with changing stall characteristics with this wing (why; we don't know as Mooneys have great stall manners) and found it slowed the plane down a tad, so the expense of building the wing with a twist in it was taken to heed and eliminated. Is there anything wrong with a "twisted wing Mooney"? No; in practice there is not much performance difference, but unfortunately, Wing Tip mods cannot be added to the '67 F model due to the twist, and no one made an STC for that model. I stand corrected, most G model Mooneys employed the twisted wing as well. zef Oh hey! Do you want a Mooney Factory
